Connor and Murphy are so much one unit. In the world of co-dependent fictional brothers, they’re probably the most co-dependent. So much so that you never even really question them having love interests. They have distinct personalities and there’s nothing creepy about their actual relationship, but they are so much halves of a whole that you never even expect them to have lives independent of each other. They’re sort of these asexual, fallen street angels who just sort of do their thing.
